General engineering program differs from other engineering majors such as (mechanical automotive aeronautical and others) because it is an interdisciplinary, broadly focused major studying concepts related to several engineering disciplines. The program is designed to meet the employers need for multi-disciplinary skills. The program is designed collaboratively by various industries such as Alstom, Siemens, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover, Eaton, etc.,

The general engineering program is good for you if you already know you are interested in engineering, but you don’t know in what type of engineering-electrical, electronics, manufacturing, mechanical and so on –you want to specialise in. During the first three years in general engineering, you can figure out what is the secret engineering power you want to develop. The program is integrated with the Masters and can be completed within five years of full-time study.

The programme contains the most advanced subjects such as lean manufacturing, industrial robots, sustainability, embedded systems, CAD for engineers, Virtual engineering, industrial systems, industry 4.0, welding technologies operation in plant management, automation, robotics and program logic controllers. The program can be customised to the learner’s interest. Students have the option to select their specialist degree on the following areas, engineering, electronics and electrical engineering, production and manufacturing engineering and operations engineering.

Mechanical Pathway: Studying a bachelor of engineering in mechanical or automotive will give you more knowledge and skills. As a mechanical engineer, your creativity and the technical skills will be in high demand across many industries managing and maintaining existing technologies and developing new ones. Degrees are offered at the University of Hertfordshire & RMIT University
