Architectural Technology/Engineering is a Pearson, UK qualification developed in collaborating with Autodesk & Bentley (Global architecture, engineering and construction software vendor) with inputs from Vinci Construction and Arup (multinational architecture,
engineering and consulting firms). Architectural Technology/Engineering meets the requirements of the following professional bodies such as Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT), Royal Institution
of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Qualification prepares you to handle successful projects in the built environment throughout the process of design, construction and post-occupancy management, information to assists you describe the project, quantify the materials, provide clear instructions for assembly and erection, and to allow for accurate costing and management.
You will engage in the production, reading and editing of construction information, to understand how this information informs different stages of the process and learn construction drawing, detailing, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Building Information Modelling (BIM), schedules (door, window, hardware, etc.), specifications, plans of work, bills of quantities and information distribution and collaboration. You will also learn about the relationship between design, construction and operation, and the relevance of information management regarding BIM and how these concepts influence the entire process of the way an asset is managed and maintained.
