The Pearson Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computing is a British qualification, equivalent to the first two years of a Bachelor’s degree and regulated by the UK’s Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). Comparable to an Associate Degree, the HND provides a strong academic foundation in Computing, ideal for students aiming to complete the 240 credits of their Bachelor of Technology or BSc (Hons) in India and transfer abroad to complete the final year. Students can specialise in the following majors- General Computing, Software Engineering, Applications Development, Data Analytics, Network Engineering, or Cyber Security, customising their studies to align with career aspirations.
Graduates have the flexibility to transfer to the final year of a BSc (Hons) or continue with the last two years of a Bachelor of Technology programme in top study destinations such as the UK, USA, UAE, Europe, New Zealand, or Australia. The qualification provides guaranteed pathways to prestigious universities like the University of Technology Sydney, one of the world’s top 100 institutions according to QS rankings. By blending theoretical knowledge with practical experience, the HND ensures students are well-prepared for the fast-paced computing industry.
The HND programme’s unique value is further enhanced by partnerships with esteemed professional bodies like BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and the Institute of Science and Technology (IST), boosting the qualification’s credibility and giving graduates a competitive edge. For those want to study abroad, the HND offers a direct route to top universities in the UK, USA, and Australia, allowing them to earn a full Bachelor’s degree in just one or two years, saving up to 60% on tuition and living costs. The practical skills acquired also enable graduates to secure part-time employment while overseas, improving their employability. Additionally, the HND supports employment-based immigration, with opportunities to claim points for skilled work visas, making it a pathway to global career success in the evolving tech sector.
