With such data generation, organizations must understand how to efficiently put this information into perspective. This is where Data Science plays a role. In this rapidly developing field, there is a need for skills in data acquisition, information extraction, aggregation and representation, data analysis, knowledge extraction, and explanation. Moreover, the volume of available data has grown exponentially, more sophisticated algorithms have been developed, and computational power and storage have steadily improved.
