Covering the foundation techniques, tools and technical concepts commonly used, this unit provides students the opportunity to practically explore VFX production and assembly. With emphasis on understanding the processes and practices of the ‘production pipeline’, students will develop the skills necessary to undertake the key processes of VFX production, from asset sourcing or capture to compositing and quality control.
You’ll will learn a more detailed understanding of the way in which 3D models are developed and deployed and will construct complex models, assets, and characters, applying materials and textures that will be required in later stages of the production pipeline. 3D modelling within the creative industries has grown tremendously, to the point where computer-generated characters and objects are now used in a broad section of the industry. Whether as a photorealistic object in an advertising poster, or a fully animated character in a feature film, a videogame or virtual reality application, the need for accurate 3D models continues to expand.
Upon completion of this course, you will benefit from, flexibility to move between locations globally, long and short-term internships, live projects, simulations, hearing from and working with experts and industry mentors. You will spend most of your time in the industry with work-integrated learning. You also have the option of converting this Diploma to Bachelor degree by study final year in one of our partner universities in UK or 300+ Pearson university partners in 100+ countries.
Please note: You must present your portfolio to get admission for VFX or you might asked to do a foundation program before you start your VFX course.
