Big Data Analytics
Prepare for 6 months at KCIC, then complete a UK master's year with Ulster or Sunderland in high-demand computing fields.
Overview
Every organisation now holds more data than it can understand. The professionals who can turn it into insight are among the most sought after in the world. This programme prepares you to be one of them.
It is a master’s degree for graduates who want to lead in the data-driven economy: those who want to store, mine, model and visualise data at scale, and to turn it into decisions that matter.
Your journey begins with six months at KCIC, Chennai, studying the UK-regulated ATHE Level 7 Extended Diploma in Computing Technologies (Data Analytics). Business intelligence, big data, systems development, cyber security and research methods form your foundation at master’s level.
Then, nine months in England at Sheffield Hallam University, rated Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework for the outstanding quality of its teaching and graduate outcomes. You master industry tools including SAS, R, Python, Tableau, Azure and the Apache Hadoop ecosystem, apply machine learning and AI to large datasets, and complete a research project of your own.
You graduate with the MSc Big Data Analytics, on a course that scored 100% for overall student satisfaction in the Postgraduate Taught Student Satisfaction Survey 2026.
The Sheffield Hallam Way
Where data is learnt the way industry uses it.
At Sheffield Hallam, you undertake a complete, end-to-end business intelligence process: understanding an organisation’s data, framing the right business questions, bringing together multiple real-time datasets, and building a decision-support system that makes recommendations.
The course is designed with industry. Sheffield Hallam consults its industry partners and subject experts to keep every module aligned with the latest trends and needs, and is an SAP Student Academy and a founding member of the SAP University Alliance.
You work on real-world projects with real data: a month-by-month analysis of flight delays to help airports run more efficiently, or data-driven solutions in policing, energy and road safety.
Here, every dataset tells a story. You learn to tell it.
