Culinary Arts Management
Develop practical skills across hospitality, business and management, with pathways into international study and service industries.
Overview
Great cuisine is remembered long after the plate is cleared. This programme teaches you to create it, and to lead those who do.
It is a degree for those who see food as both an art and an enterprise. You learn to cook with precision and imagination, and to manage kitchens, teams and businesses with the same care.
Your first two years unfold at KCIC, Chennai. Gastronomy, patisserie, menu design and food innovation are mastered by hand, alongside the leadership, procurement and financial judgement every head chef depends on. You earn a UK-regulated qualification in Hospitality Management, with a specialism in Culinary Arts Management.
From your second semester, your week takes on a rare rhythm: two days of study, three within a professional organisation. What you learn in the morning, you practise by the afternoon.
Your final year unfolds in Belfast, at Ulster University, home of Academy, its award-winning Centre for Food, Drink and Culture. Here, your craft meets strategy: innovative food developed to an award-winning standard, performance read through data, and leadership studied at its highest level, guided by a faculty recognised by the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts.
You graduate with the full three-year BSc (Hons) Culinary Arts Management from Ulster University, accredited by the Institute of Hospitality. A degree that opens the doors of Michelin-starred kitchens, global food brands, and perhaps one day, a restaurant bearing your own name.
The Academy Where the future of fine dining is prepared, plated and served.
Overlooking St Anne’s Cathedral, on the edge of Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter, Academy brings together a state-of-the-art restaurant, culinary school, beverage school and conference space under one roof. It is one of only four university learning environments of its kind in the UK.
