Program Overview

The KCIC–University of Essex Accounting and Finance Transfer Program is a flexible international pathway designed to deliver a globally recognised UK degree with strong professional outcomes.

Students have the option to begin their studies at KCIC in Chennai and complete either Year 1 or Years 1–2 locally, building strong foundations in financial accounting, management accounting, business economics, and quantitative analysis. This stage develops core capabilities in financial reporting, corporate governance, budgeting, and analytical decision-making.

Students then transfer to the UK to complete the remaining years of the BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree at Essex Business School. The programme offers a real-world learning environment, including access to a virtual trading floor using Bloomberg Market Data, enabling students to analyse financial markets and apply investment strategies.

The degree is professionally accredited by Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, and Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Depending on module choices, students can gain up to 9 ACCA paper exemptions, accelerating their pathway to becoming a qualified accountant.

Graduates develop strong analytical, financial, and decision-making skills, progressing into careers in accounting, banking, consulting, and corporate finance, with opportunities for further professional qualifications.

Further studies / Careers

For further study, graduates can pursue MSc programmes in Finance, Investment Banking, Financial Technology (FinTech), or Accounting, enhancing specialisation and employability. Many also progress with professional qualifications such as Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, or Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, often with exemptions already achieved. Graduates can enter roles such as financial analyst, audit associate, management accountant, investment analyst, tax consultant, or banking executive, with clear progression into senior finance and leadership positions.
