Program Overview
Delivered in collaboration with Ulster University, this programme offers a structured international transfer pathway towards a globally recognised BSc (Hons) Psychology degree, developing evidence-based, practice-ready skills grounded in the science of human behaviour.
Students begin with two years of Bachelor's-level study at KCIC, Chennai, building strong foundations across cognitive and biological psychology, research methods and statistical analysis, developmental and social psychology, and abnormal and clinical psychology — disciplines aligned to Ulster's curriculum and the growing global demand for psychologically informed professionals.
Upon successful completion, students transfer to Ulster University, entering directly into Year 3 of the BSc (Hons) programme and completing their full Honours degree in the UK. Graduates progress into healthcare, counselling, human resources, education, and research — sectors that actively recruit from Ulster's highly regarded School of Psychology.
Ulster University's Psychology programme is fully accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), granting graduates the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) — the essential foundation for professional registration and postgraduate training in clinical, educational, forensic, and occupational psychology.
Further studies / Careers
Graduates of the BSc (Hons) Psychology can pursue a range of postgraduate pathways. Professional doctorate routes include the DClinPsy, Doctorate in Educational Psychology, Counselling Psychology, and Forensic Psychology, all leading to HCPC registration. Specialist MSc programs span Clinical, Health, Forensic, Organisational, Neuropsychology, and Sports Psychology. Research-oriented graduates can pursue MPhil or PhD programs.
Entry Criteria
Eligibility requires completion of A levels or 10+2 from any recognised national or international board with a minimum of 70% in English language proficiency and have taken humanities subjects. After submitting the application, students may be required to attend a personal interview or aptitude test.
Study Journey from KCIC to Study Abroad
Develop core psychological literacy across the major disciplines of psychology. The program builds foundations in human behavior, mental health frameworks, cognitive psychology, developmental and social psychology, and individual differences — grounded in scientific research methods — while cultivating resilience, self-awareness, and reflective practice, preparing you for evidence-based roles across health, education, and social care environments.
Deepen applied psychological competence across core disciplines. The programme advances expertise in individual differences, cognitive psychology, psychobiology, developmental and social psychology — strengthened by advanced research methods, multivariate statistical analysis, and experimental design. Students build critical evaluation skills, research literacy, and professional self-awareness, consolidating the academic foundations needed to transfer to Ulster University for final-year study in the UK.
You transfer to Ulster University's Coleraine campus for your final Honours year. Study deepens across optional advanced modules — forensic psychology, health psychology, clinical and counselling psychology, and behavioural neuroscience — alongside the Psychology at Work module applying psychology to real-world challenges, culminating in an independent research project that demonstrates full academic and professional readiness.
Complete an independent research project developing advanced study design, data analysis, and academic writing skills. The Psychology at Work module applies psychological theory to real-world challenges. Optional specialisations spanning forensic, health, clinical, counselling, sport, and behavioural neuroscience allow tailoring of expertise — graduating with the research autonomy and applied competence required for professional practice or postgraduate training.
Upon graduation, students receive a full international degree and are eligible for an 18–24 month post-study work visa, allowing them to stay and seek employment. This visa permits full-time work and does not require employer sponsorship.
