Build your foundation in hospitality leadership and business operations In Year 1, students develop the core competencies of a hospitality manager — delivering exceptional customer experiences, leading and rostering teams, managing budgets, monitoring operations, handling conflict, building business relationships, and maintaining legal and workplace safety compliance. These skills prepare graduates to step into supervisory roles from Day 1.

Year 2
TAFE NSW l AUS

In Year 2, students transition into applied business and hotel management study in Sydney. Core focus areas include global business in cross-cultural contexts, buyer behaviour and consumer decision-making, hotel operations management, and event management. Students also complete 150 hours of industry work placement (arranged by TAFE NSW), gaining hands-on experience within real hospitality operations.

Year 3

In Year 3, students advance into senior management and strategic thinking. Core study covers hotel and resort entrepreneurship, hotel marketing and yield management, and strategic management — equipping students to lead business performance across complex hospitality organisations. The TAFE NSW Hospitality and Hotel Management programme is delivered by a TEQSA-registered Higher Education Provider (PRV12049, valid to 2030), a nationally Registered Training Organisation (RTO 90003), and a CRICOS-registered institution (00591E) authorised to enrol international students. The Bachelor degree is an AQF Level 7 qualification — equivalent to any Australian university degree.

Exemptions

Students holding a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Hospitality or Hotel Management from another institution may be eligible for credit exemptions toward the Bachelor degree, assessed by TAFE NSW on a case-by-case basis.
