Computing & Digital
Information technology
Develop skills across computing, software and emerging technologies, with progression routes into international technology degrees.
Overview
Technology is reshaping every industry on earth: the networks that connect us, the systems that protect us, and the intelligence that is learning to think alongside us. This programme prepares you to lead in all of it.
It is a programme for those who want to build the future and keep it safe: designing networks, defending them against threats, and creating the intelligent systems that will define the decades ahead.
Your journey begins with two years at KCIC, Chennai, earning a UK-regulated Higher National Diploma in Computing. Programming, networking, databases and security form a shared foundation, before you follow one of two pathways: Networking and Cybersecurity, or Artificial Intelligence.
Then, a year and a half in Sydney at UTS, ranked 87th in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2027, and first in Australia for Artificial Intelligence in the ARWU 2025 rankings. In the heart of Sydney’s technology precinct, you complete your degree with UTS’s practice-based approach and its network of more than 1,000 industry partners.
You graduate with a full degree from the University of Technology Sydney, whose graduates are eligible for professional-level membership of the Australian Computer Society.
Two Majors, One Journey
A shared foundation in computing. A choice of frontier.
Both degrees share UTS’s core of IT professional subjects: communication for IT professionals, web systems, business requirements modelling, network and database fundamentals, professional practice, and project management.
Bachelor of Information Technology, Networking and Cybersecurity major
For those who want to build and defend the networks the world depends on. You study cryptography, network security, cloud computing infrastructure and the security of connected devices, preparing for careers protecting organisations from cyber threats.
Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence
For those who want to build intelligent systems. You study machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, computer vision and natural language processing, alongside the ethics that must guide them, and complete an AI capstone.
